DOT Testing

DOT drug testing is federally mandated by Department of Transportation Agencies per 49 CFR Part 40 for anyone who operates a commercial motor vehicle with a gross weight of 26,001 pounds or more, transports more than 16 occupants, or transports hazardous materials, air operators, rail operators, pipeline facilities, and maritime.  Other DOT authorities would be the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This is a friendly reminder for you single owner operators who own any heavy equipment or run a single semi for your farm. Don't get caught not complying or you could be fined. If you are unsure if you fall under this click here to find out.  They have a standard 10-panel urine screen that they must take in order to comply; they recently passed an oral test.
